ROTOFUGI presents ST3NCIL

Rotofugi presents ST3NCIL
Contemporary Stencil Work by Three Artists

Info posted by Rotofugi:

Featuring: Jonathan Wakuda Fischer, David Soukup and Peat Wollaeger (stenSOUL)

Stencil art has a long, long history....like ancient. The history spans from pre-historic times (where the hand may have been the very first stencil pattern) through Edo period Japan, into Europe where Picasso, Matisse and many others experimented with "pochoir" (French for stencil) and onto the streets around the globe in more modern times.

For our next exhibit we take a look at three artists working with stencils today. St. Louis -based Peat Wollaeger brings us a character-rich cartoon-inspired style with a graffiti edge and will be featuring his latest stencil series "EYEZ," Chicago artist David Soukup explores the use of stencils to create intricate architecture-inspired works and Seattle-based Jonathan Wakuda Fischer mixes Japanese themes with modern culture and vibrant colors.

Opening Reception

Snacks will be served and the artists will all be in attendance.
