Circus Posterus is getting ready to make the big move from Florida to New Mexico, so we're offering our first official online sale of original drawings, customs, toys and more. It's been awhile since we last heard about a new release by Kathie Olivas, but for good reason as she recently revealed what she's been busy at work on... Posted above is an image of "Elizabeth", a new character design that's part of Kathie's latest custom series. Elizabeth is a gorgeous fiberglass sculpt that measure 36" in height and has been hand painted by Kathie. You can see Elizabeth first hand at "Sentimental" her solo show, hosted by Copro Nason Gallery, which opens on May 09, 2009.

It looks like MINDstyle dropped another gem on us when they unveiled their latest edition of the 9" 2-Faced Hazel. The NYCC edition sports what looks to be a blue and gray colorway that's completely different from the other versions but looks incredible in its own right. The 9" 2-Faced Hazel - NYCC Edition retails for $100 and will be available in super limited quantities(200 pieces total) at the Toy Tokyo Booth #858. Kathie Olivas will also be on hand at the Toy Tokyo Booth for a sign and sketch session on Saturday(02.07.09) between 12-2 p.m.

THE SCAVENGERS (DIY) SERIES by KATHIE OLIVAS

Kathie Olivas recently added some pictures to her flickr of what looks like a bunch of The Scavengers mini-figures from S1 and S2 all primed up and hand painted on. Kathie states that she plans on creating about 100 of these mini-figures and releasing them as a Blind Box Series really soon. Personally, I am really looking forward to this Series and hope to get at least one or two pieces for myself.

Here's a direct quote from Kathie Olivas:

"The DIYs are all hand-primed white S1 & S2 figures, this includes at least 1 of every figure including the chases. They are all hand-drawn with a black sharpie and a few have metallic or color accents. I'm trying to finish 100, will then re-box them all up and sell them blindly when I sell the Hazels. A few of the DIY's will be set aside for some of flickr photo contest prizes."

NOCTURNAL @ CARDBOARD SPACESHIP - Show Recap

The Nocturnal Show at Cardboard Spaceship opened last night, where both Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters unveiled new breathe-taking solo and collaborative efforts. The artwork being showcased ranged from various paintings, prints, and vinyl figures in all sizes, all the way up to a collaborated 4 ft. Qee that was as big as it was amazing... Even with most pieces already sold through Cardboard Spaceship's preview list, the turnout was still great with fans of all ages lined up not only to get doodles and sketches but were also waiting for their opportunity to meet both artists. From what I've seen, Kathie and Brandt are really passionate about their work and are very good to their fans, as they signed and doodled on pretty much everything that was placed in front of them. Kudos to the Cardboard Spaceship crew as well; by far some of the best people in the retail business, not only did they host an outstanding show, but they made sure every customer was well taken care of... Thanks again Nick!!!

Calling in sick...

Well today is the second day in a row I've been sick... I think it's just a mild case of the flu or something, but I haven't been able to go to the office and update this blog or the store inventory like I normally do... I've just been sitting around doing absolutely nothing. I do however feel alot better than I did a couple days ago, and I should be back in business tomorrow... Vicks Formula 44 FTW!!!
