SDCC 2009 PICKUPS

This was Always Seen and co.'s first year attending SDCC as professionals and we tried to focus more on providing coverage of this massive event, so in turn our pickups list wasn't as extensive as year's past but somehow we were still lucky enough to pick up the items that we really wanted. This year's pickups include: both Luck and Fortune cat Dunnys by Mr. Shane Jessup, a couple of customs from Lou Pimentel, SDCC exclusive Cosmic Pennie by Kathie Olivas, SDCC exclusive Mouse Mask by Ron English, SDCC exclusvie WWRP by IDW, and the Wooden Labbit by Amanda Visell x Frank Kozik. Artist Patrick Francisco has been making alot of noise in the urban art and designer toy industry lately and this time he was gracious enough to extend his talents towards an ongoing project with Always Seen called AS:PF. Artist Arkiv of Arkiv Inc. recently revealed photos of a fully painted Arkiv Instant prototype and all I can say is "WOW"!!! I've been following this character design from the start and in my honest opinion, I believe that Arkiv Instant will be one of the top 5 designer toys to be released this year(a definite must have...). Adfunture is in charge of the production of Arkiv Instant and they're being extremely tight lipped about this whole project. For now, all that's available are high-res photos of what's to come... The "Metal Mickey Series" mini print set is an extension of the previous Metal Mickey original painting series that's been completely sold out. Each print measures out to 6.5" x 8" and is a great representation of Arkiv's original work. This series is an edition of 100 and each set is hand signed and numbered.
