THE BIG PAYBACK, Juxtapoz Magazine's 15th Anniversary Art Auction is now live and you can bid on pieces online at CharityBuzz.com.

On November 14th, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.(PST), all of the pieces that are a part of the auction will be on display at the Factory Place Arts Complex. To attend this must see show with works from over 140 artists including Matthew Barney, Swoon and WK Interact, please RSVP to RSVP@SASTUDIOSGLOBAL.COM.

Proceeds from “The Big Payback” auction will support the goal of purchasing five homes and employing local Detroit contractors, electricians, plumbers, and carpenters to perform the renovations. Selected artists will also be invited to participate in the remodeling.

The event aims to raise the consciousness of both the problems of people disenfranchised by the nation’s economic crisis, as well as encourage a sense of community in the art world and inspire people to effect positive social change in their own communities.

"The Big Payback" - Charity Auction

**All Proceeds from the Event Support Power House Project of Detroit**

Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine celebrates its 15th anniversary with “The Big Payback,” an online charity art auction and a special event in Los Angeles hosted by Upper Playground. The event benefits the non-profit Power House Project of Detroit.

”The Big Payback” auction features original artwork from over 100 national and internationally renowned contemporary artists including: Swoon, CR Stecyk III, Robert Williams, Todd Schorr, Estevan Oriol, Mister Cartoon, Shepard Fairey, Doze Green, Todd “Reas” James, Thomas Campbell, Tim Biskup, KR, Big Daddy Roth, WK Interact, Clayton Brothers, Andrew Schoultz, James Jean, Ron English, David Choe, Mike Giant, Paul Insect, Jeremy Fish, Alex Pardee, Saber, David Ellis, Boogie, D*Face, Cody Hudson & Herbert Baglione.

“Graffiti is the type of thing you have to be really dedicated to,” says Seventh Letter (Juxtapoz #78) member, EWOK. “My mom always tells people like, she could never keep any pens or pencils around, cus I’d always steal them and draw on every piece of paper in the house and it kept going; it kind of became an obsession.”

In 2008, Juxtapoz Magazine and Upper Playground asked David Choe, Alex Pardee, Saber & Retna to paint their way across the United States. Traveling the country from Washington D.C. to the Bay Area with spray cans in their hands and cameras following, they bombed, brushed, and painted, leaving a swath of color and creativity in their wake. This short documentary piece, set to the music of Cutsoquick, captures the artists as they hit the streets collaborating on huge pieces and connecting with fans and admirers of their art from all walks of life. In the ongoing collaboration between Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton, the high end apparel and accessories company has finally released their anticipated full-length video for the new Louis Vuitton Superflat First Love leather collection.

Titled First Love, the short film features a Murakami character that plays matchmaker between the young Louis Vuitton designer and a girl.
